The Biological Thursdays
Primary tabs
For more than twenty years, the section of Biology has held interesting and renowned lectures on evolution and biology in general on a weekly basis, called The Biological Thursdays.
This semester, unfortunately, only two of these splendid events are held in English:
| 10. 11. 2011 | James F. Gillooly | The power of physics envy in biology - Idealized models predict patterns from genes to ecosystems |
| 08. 12. 2011 | Lee A. Dugatkin | Mate choice in nonhumans and humans - The interaction of cultural and genetic transmission |
These events start at 17:15 in the Photochemistry lecture hall (B3) in Viničná 7 building (Biology building). The lecture usually takes about hour and a half, then there is a discussion which is concluded in the nearby pub.
Of course, for those with better understanding of Czech, the site
http://bio.natur.cuni.cz/~flegr/ctvrtky/index.php
contains the current program for all the Thursdays.
See you there!
Marek
