To sort out the administration of your studies at the beginning of the semester head to the Erasmus Office of the Faculty of Science. The office is on the 2nd floor at Na Slupi 16 in a building which is located in Botanical Garden. Check the updated office hours

Student office

In the office, you will fill in some forms to enroll at the faculty and you will get your student’s record book (bring two passport photos). You will also arrange your admission to the courses in the Student Information System (based on your Learning Agreement).

Apart from visiting the Erasmus office of the Faculty of Science, you will need to arrange your Student ID card. You can handle it with the help of our volunteers during the Welcome days at the beginning of the semester. The Erasmus coordinator will also show you around the campus (libraries, computer rooms, food court, etc.).

Student ID card

There are three Card Service Centers in Prague where you can issue the ID card, the nearest to the Faculty of Science is at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (address: Ke Karlovu 3). You don’t need to bring a photo, they will take a photo of you on the spot, also you’ll receive your card immediately.

There are two types of student ID cards which you can choose from:

1) The basic card, which is issued without an ISIC license, is free of charge and entitles the holder to all student discounts on admission, to buy discounted public transport pass, etc.

2) The card with the ISIC license costs CZK 230. It serves as the basic student ID and additionally it entitles its holder to many ISIC discounts all over the world.

The validity of the student ID card is proved by the enclosed annual faculty coupon, which you´ll receive at the Erasmus Office of the Faculty of Science. Please don’t lose it :)

Your student ID card serves as a library card in all Charles University´s libraries (although you need to register at each of the libraries when you first visit it); a card for payment in the university canteens; for payment of printing in the computer rooms and as an ID card which enables you to get discounted student travel pass for public transport in Prague.
